Giant Rats in the News... Again!

Man, I thought these guys were big.

But back in the day, a three pound rat was nothing. Not compared to the one ton rats that used to roam the earth four million years ago.



Doesn't this kind of refute evolution? How is it "evolution" if rats today are less awesome than they were four million years ago?

I have a similar question regarding human's lack of a prehensile tail.
