Or, wait. Is the tree on the left... they look so similar!Maybe not. My first impression on looking at the "face" in the tree was that of Illinois's favorite son, Fred MacMurray. Others have suggested Che Guevera.
Really, that face on the tree could be just about anyone!
Can science ever explain how this mysterious face formed on an Illinois sycamore tree? Perhaps not. Perhaps it is only a coincidence; perhaps it is something more.
On the other hand, perhaps it really is Mayor Stephens, trying to warn us of something from beyond the grave. Granted, he would have plenty to say to us today as the man who ran Rosemont for more than fifty years, building the sleepy little bedroom community into a community that boasts THE DONALD E STEPHENS CONVENTION CENTER! "One of the largest convention centers in the country!"
So it's entirely possible that the Mayor has returned with a message for the living. My guess is that he wants to tell the good citizens of Rosemont that they should've built a sports arena instead.

I'm so surprised nobody suggested Jesus as the image. That's usually the first guess. I recognized a little John Lennon, I think.
