The Saddest Pizza

This rising-crust pizza is the first thing I ever baked in my brand new oven in my brand new house!

Sure looks delicious, doesn't it? I'll never know 'cause I threw it out immediately.

Being a brand new oven, it let off a pungent stench the first time I turned it on. It was like a cross between gym socks and burning tires. The guy who did the final walk-through with me suggested that I bake something I really didn't want to eat the first time I used the oven to absorb the bad smells.

I decided to use frozen rising-crust pizzas for two reasons: 1) generic-brand pizzas can be got cheap, and 2) I figured the rising crust would be spongy and odor-trappy.

Poor sad little unloved pizza. No one will ever taste you and love your pepperoni goodness. Into the garbage with you now!

I was tempted to try it just to see, but if it tasted anything like it smelled when cooking, it'd be like eating a slice of gym sock topped with burnt tire shavings.

I hope you enjoyed this brief peek into my new home! Maybe more pictures will be forthcoming!

Something about that picture makes it hard to tell what size the pizza is.

As small as a cookie? As big as a man?

I guess I'll never know.
