Our friendly neighbors to the North are celebrating their national holiday, Canada Day today. So in recognition of this auspicious day (of all days!) I thought I'd link y'all to an interesting article I found over on Dave Barry’s blog, with the shocking headline: Half of Canadians too ignorant to be Canadian (!)
According to the story, immigrants who wish to become Canadian citizens must take a test with twenty-one questions concerning the government, history and geography of Canada. To pass, applicants must answer at least twelve correctly. Seventy percent of immigrants seeking Canadian citizenship can do so, but sixty percent of actual Canadian-born citizens cannot!
I don't think many Canadians visit this blog, but for the rest of you, you can test your mastery of Canuck lore by taking The Canadian Challenge: Click here to answer sample questions that a prospective immigrant to Canada would have to know.
I got thirteen out of twenty, and that's despite the fact that I thought Brian Mulroney was still their current Prime Minister and that the name "Canada" was an Iroquois word meaning "Moose infestation."

HOLY CRAP! So I took the quiz. You have the option to take a certain amount of questoins or all 100. I chose to take 20 questoins. I only got 4 wrong.
I don't know what to say.
