The Paris Hilton Defense Team Suffers Another Blow!

As you may have heard, Paris Hilton is facing a forty-five day prison sentence for offences stemming from a DUI arrest. Her legal defense is fighting the rap, but her best last hope was in a pardon from California Governor Schwarzenegger.

And now that hope is GONE!

Schwarzenegger's people talked to reporters and called it "premature" to issue a pardon before Paris had exhausted all other legal options. And even then, the Governor "would only get involved in extraordinary circumstances."

Harsh words!

And speaking of Paris, the city that is, it's CAR BURNING SEASON over there again!

Why is it burning cars? Why not rocks through windows? T.P.ing houses? Or why not do the normal riot thing and just run amok? Why do French riots always get stuck on the same old theme of car burning?

It's definitely a French thing, not a poor minority thing. Because this time it's white anarchists, as opposed to disenfranchised blacks and Arabs who were burning cars during the 2005 riots. It's like the French just hate cars.

And speaking of hate and the French, guess who hates the French the most?

THE FRENCH!

According to an opinion poll published the International Herald Tribune, Americans were asked to give their opinion of the French, and 38 percent answered negatively. That makes us only second-place Frog-bashers! Out of the French respondents to the same poll, 44 percent answered negatively.

Ironic, then, that the stereotypical American disdain for the French should become the one thing that makes us... like the French.

Weird.
