- 31% of respondents do not know the name of the Vice President
- 34% do not know the name of their state's governor
- 32% are unaware that the U.S. has a trade deficit
- 51% cannot identify Nancy Pelosi as the Speaker of the House
- 79% cannot name the Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates
- 54% of people whose knowledge of current affairs was rated "high" identified The Daily Show and/or Colbert Report as one of their news sources.
- 53% of people whose knowledge was rated "low" are registered to vote.
Is there anything to be learned from this? Probably that people don't keep up with current events as much as they ought to. So I'm here to help with an article I found on Dave Barry's blog about a guy WHOSE FREAKING ARM WAS BIT OFF BY A FREAKING CROCODILE.
Read the article. Its a Current Event and that boosts your Knowledge Score. It has a happy ending because doctors were able to retrieve the arm and reattach it. Plus, there is a wicked picture of the croc with the guy's arm in it's mouth.
Speaking of cool pictures and organizations that release stuff, NASA released a bunch of cool 3-D IMAGES OF THE SUN. (Click on image to enlarge.)

At least you can SEE 3D! With this crazy eye, all I see with those glasses is red ( or blue, depending on the manufacturer).
Although it was kinda fun watching everyone jump at Disney World. For me . .. even the "HIGH TECH" 3D glasses just move the images slightly left.
